ICE families are required to raise funds each season, so that the Club can keep practice/equipment fees low. A family with one swimmer must raise $100 per season, and a family with two or more swimmers must raise $150 per season. The two seasons each year are the Shourt-Course Season, running from September through February/early March, and the Long-Course Season, from April through July/early August. The Fundraising Committee plans many fundraising opportunities throughout the year. A family may opt to pay the required amount, without participating in Club fundraisers. The Fundraising Committee chair for the 2009-10 year is Don McGlaughlin.
1) HyVee Coupon Books
Purchase or sell coupon books for $5 each. ICE keeps $4 per booklet, and the first coupon in the book is for $5 off any HyVee or HyVee Gas purchase of $50 or more. If you shop at Hy-Vee anyway, you'll get all your money back by using the first coupon, and you have just earned $4 for the Club. Click here for Hy-Vee Coupon Book forms and information. Click here to see a list of coupons in the Hy-Vee books. Contact Vicki Holthaus (email) or 354-5954 with questions.
2) Solicit Donations from Area Businesses
Many local businesses budget funds for charitable donations. It never hurts to ask your bank, grocer, mechanic, electrician, stockbroker, dentist, physician, or anyone else you do business with, for a tax-deductible donation or sponsorship of team events. Click here for a business donation form. Funds you solicit will count toward your seasonal fund-raising obligation; amounts collected in excess of your obligation will go to the ICE general expense and equipment fund. 3) Raise Funds for ICE through H&R Block Referrals!
H&R Block can help ICE members raise money for the Club! For each new client referred to have their taxes prepared, H&R Block will provide a $25 program reward to ICE! To receive the program reward, the referred members must be new clients and they must bring the referral form to H&R Block when they have their taxes prepared. The more new clients you refer, the more money ICE can make, and there is no limit to the number of referrals ICE can make! The program begins January 1 and continues through November 1, 2009. At the end of May and November, ICE will receive one convenient check with our total program reward amount. Click HERE for referral form. Contact Don McGlaughlin with questions.
